This blog is a visual and written record of my investigation into interior materiality relevant to my Interior Major Project 'TreeTop Spot', which is an energy-filled activities centre. Here, users can enjoy a high ropes course, which guides them throughout their adventure within Portsmouth's Knight and Lee building. The indoor ropes course is complemented by various activities and refreshments throughout the space, alongside our Four to Eighty Four campaign.
The Four to Eighty Four campaign is a pairing system in which elderly people can interact with young children via drawing, playing and reading. Based on the success of the TV programme, "Old People's Home for 4 Year Old's", we encourage the two generations to form bonds with the intention of reducing loneliness in the elderly community.
With such a mixture of activities, in which all are welcome, this blog expresses my interesting journey of material application to cater to the community of Portsmouth. This process will involve the exploration and application of various materials and technology, accessible as a plethora of information within this blog and an accompanying A4 report. This investigation is organised into three main sections: EXPLORE, ANALYSE and PROPOSE. These weekly tasks and self directed studies have provided me with a more holistic view of materials, as I inspected through historical, societal, environmental, scientific and theoretical lenses.
