This piece of work is a magazine, created for the Professional Identity module. The objective here was to develop and articulate a sense of identity within the interior design field by creating my own practice. Here, I documented work involving:
Group work shops;
Investigation of design teams;
Marketing and promotion;
Legal frameworks;
Application of relevant regulations and guidelines;
Engagement of individual expression within practice.
This is all based upon my Interior Major Project, 'TreeTop Spot', which is an energy-filled activities centre located in Portsmouth's Knight and Lee building. The space is focused around a high ropes course, which guides them throughout their adventure. TreeTop Spot also has: spaces for refreshments; a roller-skating area; bumper cars; a low ropes courses within our kids play areas; a creche; conference rooms for office away days and a space which encourages elderly people to interact with young children, known as the "Four to Eighty Four" campaign. The aim of the campaign is to get elderly people involved in the space, in order to help combat loneliness in the community.
This module helped me to bring the TreeTop Spot to life in a practical sense, which allowed me to acquire knowledge that I can apply to the real design world. The magazine is organised into four sections: Design Practice; Application; My Practice and Project Audit.
