The Interior Major Project brief was to create a magazine displaying highlights of our design process over the course of the academic year. We had a choice of three different locations within Portsmouth, and I chose the Knight and Lee building in Southsea. We were given the task of transforming it into a space which brings joy to the community, whilst considering matters of care for the user.

I decided to create an energy-filled activities centre. Here, users can enjoy a high ropes course, which guides them throughout their adventure within Knight and Lee. The indoor ropes course is complemented by various activities and refreshments throughout the space. This includes:

  • Cafes and a juice bar;

  • A roller-skating area;

  • Bumper cars;

  • Low ropes courses within our kids play areas;

  • A creche;

  • Conference rooms for office away days.

  • Four to Eighty Four campaign.

The Four to Eighty Four campaign is a pairing system in which elderly people can interact with young children via drawing, playing and reading. Based on the success of the TV programme, "Old People's Home for 4 Year Old's", I am encouraging the two generations to form bonds with the intention of reducing loneliness in the elderly community.

This piece of work is a documentation of this process in my own style. The rest of my coursework for final year is all based around this project.
